Oya Guray's Biography
Oya GÜRAY started her art career with painting in 1980, at Academy of Fine Arts Devrim ERBİL Studio in Istanbul. Later on, she initiated her professional work life by drawing figures and patterns for one of the biggest firms in Turkey.
She continued her art career with Traditional Turkish Arts. GÜRAY kept doing her amateur work while taking classes from Tülin GÖNÜLTAŞ in Cahide KESKİNER style. In June 2006, in the gallery of İstanbul Nakışhanesi, she published her first art works. Afterward, some of her art works were published in Orlando, FL (United States of America) and in Istanbul, Bağlarbaşı İhtisas Merkezi and Feshane. Today, some of these art pieces are not only displayed in Turkey, but also Sweeden, United Arab Emirates and United States of America.
GÜRAY has worked in Specialized Islamic Arts Center (Islam Sanatlari İhtisas Merkezi), Istanbul, with Necati SANCAKTUTAN. In April 2010, GÜRAY’s work of art attracted great attention in an exhibition named “Hüsn-i Hat ve Bir Tezhib”. Furthermore in June 2010, GÜRAY shared three of her work with art lovers in one of the biggest exhibition of the year for Traditional Turkish Arts.
After pursuing her education, she launched her own workshop and education center named Sencide ArtWorkshop in 09 April 2011. Sencide Art Workshop is located in Çınardibi, Bilim Sokak Gül Apartmanı 7/15 Kadıköy İstanbul. In Sencide Art Workshop illumination, gilding, calligraphy, miniature, hand-drawing, water color painting, Ottoman Turkish and botanical illustration classes are also available for students.

In May 2011, Sencide Art Workshop held the exhibition in Beykoz Konaklari. In this exhibition, students and instructors got a chance to display nearly 60 of their work of art.
In April 2012, Bahar- ı Sencide (spring at Sencide) exhibition took place in Press Museum of The Turkish Journalists' Association. In illumination, gilding, calligraphy, miniature, hand-drawing categories total of 91 pieces, in water color category 15 pieces and botanical illustration category 74 pieces of artwork was published.
Last exhibition was held in September 2012 in ‘ADAEVI’ which is located at Büyükada (Big Island) in Istanbul and total of 70 pieces of artwork was exhibited.
